DO NOT EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING AFTER MIDNIGHT (12:00am) – Night before your procedure
**You will receive a call from the Naugatuck Valley Surgical Center with a time for you to arrive at the facility on the date of your scheduled procedure and complete a prescreen phone call with a preoperative nurse.
11:00am – Take 2 Bisacodyl Tablets (orange pills) & 1 Simethicone Capsule (red pill) *if capsule or tablets are broken call office to pick up via drive by
11:05am – Begin last 1/2 gallon of MiraLAX solution
Tips:
Sip solution to help tolerate discomfort in taste or texture
If you feel you are going to vomit stop drinking the solution, take a 1 to 2 hour break then begin again slowly
Mix solution with white cranberry juice or other juice (not red) to help with taste
MEDICATION CHANGES DIABETICS - Take 1/2 of diabetic medications / insulin the day before procedure
Aspirin & blood thinners (Plavix, Carvidelol, Brilanta, Xeralto, etc) - Hold off on taking these medication 1 day before your procedure

STOP CALCIUM 3 DAYS PRIOR TO COLONOSCOPY STOP IRON & OTHER MINERALS 3 DAYS PRIOR TO COLONOSCOPY COUMADIN/WARFARIN ½ THREE DAYS PRIOR ½ TWO DAYS PRIOR NONE ONE DAY PRIOR STOP ASPIRIN, BRILINTA, XERALTO, PLAVIX & ALL OTHER BLOOD THINNERS 24 HOURS PRIOR TO COLONOSCOPY TAKE SEIZURE RX AS NORMAL OTHER CHANGES WILL BE DETERMINED BY DR.
